The 2010 Venice Carnival is underway; the weekends are the busiest times then today Venice was filled amongst tourists too day-trippers. The council estimates 75 ,000 people were inwards St. Mark's Square for the Volo dell'Angelo , a traditional resultant inwards which roughly bizarrely random 'personality' is winched downward from the Campanile dressed every bit an angel.
It was a sunny solar daytime too despite the crowds on bridges too inwards lanes , the atmosphere was pleasant too jovial. It's the quaternary Carnival I've seen inwards Venice , too I yet taste seeing then many people dressed upward inwards costumes too masks. It takes a real inventive costume to print me right away , too today my favourite was a human being dressed every bit Noah... too his ark.
After a pleasant stroll too a few photos I bought a drinking glass of vin brulé (mulled wine) from a stand upward virtually Campo Santa Margherita , along amongst a frittella , a sort of traditional Venetian festival doughnut (but nicer than a doughnut).
If the conditions is expert I'll endure returning to San Marco for to a greater extent than Carnival photos during this week. In the meantime , hither are roughly snapshots from this afternoon:
